Shrawan 2013

Shravan Maas (Month) is the fifth Hindu month in a traditional Marathi calendar followed in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradeshand and Karnataka  is a highly auspicious month. Shravan Month in the year 2013 is from August 7 to Sept 4. The month is highly auspicious and hold back Hindus do not eat meat products,

Avoid intake of  Alcohol and perform different types of Pujas.


Mondays is dedicated to Lord  Shiva Pooja andShravan-Maas-2013

on Tuesday  Women perform Mangala Gouri Puja and

Friday for Varlaxmi pooja in Andhra Pradesh. Other important festivals and auspicious days in Shrawan  are  Nag Panchami,  Narli Purnima,  Raksha Bandhan,  Sri Krishna Jayanti and Dahi Handi.

Sankashti Chaturthi the monthly fasting dedicated to Lord Ganesh in  Shrawan Month is on August 24 – Chandrodaya is at 9:15 PM – Indian Standard Time.

Purnima in Marathi Shravan Maas  

Shravan Pournima or Full moon day is on August 21, 2013. The Purnima begins at 10:22 AM on August 20 and ends at 7:14 AM on August 21. Raksha Bandhan and Narial Purnima are observed on August 20.

Amavasya in Marathi Shravan Maas

Shravan Amavasya or No moon day is on Sept 5. The Amavasya begins at 4.21 PM on Sept 4 and ends at 5.06 PM on Sept 05. Pola is observed on  Sept 05. Pithori Amavasya is on Sept 04.
